Are You A RSP?

RSPs Provide Services To End Users Using The Next Gen NBN

The Next Generation Nationwide Broadband Network (Next Gen NBN) is the wired network of the Next Generation National Infocomm Infrastructure (Next Gen NII). A project under IDA's Intelligent Nation 2015 (iN2015) masterplan to transform Singapore into an intelligent nation and global city, powered by Infocomm.

The Next Gen NBN will reinforce the status of Singapore as an info-communications hub and open new doors to economic opportunities, business growth and social vibrancy. It is envisioned that the network will deliver services up to 1 Gbps to every home and business in Singapore.

There are three distinct types of functional entities operating on the Next Gen NBN – the Network Company (NetCo), Operating Company (OpCo) and Retail Service Providers (RSPs). RSPs can leverage on the ultra-high speed broadband connectivity of up to 1 Gbps to homes, schools, government buildings, businesses and hospitals, to provide a range of RSP Services to end users.

Retail Services
RSP – Retail Service Provider

The RSP layer, leveraging on the high bandwidths of the Next Gen NBN, provides a range of services and applications to end users (residential, businesses, institutional).

Wholesale Bandwidth Services (Layer 2 & 3 Open Access)
OpCo – Nucleus Connect

The Operating Company (OpCo) layer will design, build, operate the active infrastructure (comprising switches and transmission equipment) and provide wholesale network services over the Next Gen NBN to RSPs. IDA has appointed Nucleus Connect as the OpCo.

Wholesale Wirelines (Layer 1 Open Access)
NetCo – OpenNet

The Network Company (NetCo) layer will design, build and operate the passive infrastructure, such as dark fibre and ducts. IDA has appointed OpenNet as the Netco.
